VosBridge

Terms and conditions

The rules for using VosBridge. Short and in plain language.

Version: 17 October 2026

In short

1. Who we are

  1. VosBridge is a service of StepFox, the sole trader business of Bram Vos, in the Netherlands.
    • Address: Bosven 314, 5464 ND Veghel, the Netherlands
    • Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: 18067248
    • VAT number: NL001746929B54
    • E-mail: help@vosbridge.com
    • Website: vosbridge.com
  2. In these terms ‘we’ means StepFox and ‘you’ means anyone who uses VosBridge.

2. What these terms cover

  1. These terms apply to everyone who uses VosBridge: with or without an account, free or with a plan.
  2. How we handle your data is set out in our privacy statement. It is not part of these terms; you read it separately.
  3. You can always read, save and print these terms in the app, at https://vosbridge.com/vos1811/voorwaarden.

3. Your account

  1. All you need for an account is an e-mail address. You sign in with a code we e-mail to you; there is no password.
  2. VosBridge is for players aged 16 and over.
  3. An account is personal. Do not share your sign-in code with anyone.
  4. Choose a name that does not hurt others and is not someone else's name.

4. What is free

  1. Today's board. Every day you can play today's first board free, even without an account.
  2. 14-day free trial. With an account you play everything free for 14 days. The trial starts as soon as you first sign in. Your account shows exactly the last day you play free; that whole day counts, until midnight Netherlands time (11 pm UK time). On day 11 we send you a reminder by e-mail.
  3. You give no payment details for the trial, so nothing is charged when it ends. It is up to you whether you choose a plan.
  4. Playing as a guest. At the table of someone with a plan (or in their trial), you can play free on 3 days. You need a free account for that. A day counts once, however many boards you play. Days in your own trial do not count. After that you need a plan of your own to join.
  5. You can look back at the boards you have played for as long as your account exists, even without a plan.

5. Plans and prices

  1. With a plan you can play everything: against the bots, with your partner or friends, all of today's boards, bidding practice, themes and your own boards.
  2. There are two plans in pounds:
    • Monthly: £4.50 a month; renews by itself, every month, until you cancel (clause 7)
    • Yearly: £45 a year; never renews by itself (clause 8)
  3. If you use VosBridge in Dutch, German or French, you pay in euros (€5 a month, €50 a year). The ‘Together’ plan for two people (€75 a year) is only offered in euros (clause 9).
  4. All prices include VAT. There are no other charges.
  5. The price shown when you pay is the price for the period you pay for. Clause 17 explains how a price may change later.

6. Ordering and paying

  1. You pay through Adyen, a payment company in Amsterdam, for example by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Adyen's payment page shows the ways open to you. We never see your card number or bank details.
  2. Just above the ‘Pay now: £…’ button you see which plan you are choosing, the price, how long it runs, when it starts and whether it renews by itself. Your plan is taken out only when you tap that button and the payment succeeds. If you pay nothing now (with a discount code), the button reads ‘Order (you pay £0 now)’; your plan is then taken out when you tap it and, for a free month, have given your card.
  3. Letting someone else pay. You can make a payment link and send it to someone who pays for you, for example your son, daughter or grandchild. The link works for 7 days. The plan is yours, and so are the rights in these terms (including ‘Withdraw and get a refund’). Any refund goes back to the person who paid.
  4. Discount code. If you have a discount code, enter it before you pay; you then see the new price. Each code says what it applies to and for how long. If a code makes a month free, you still give a card, but nothing is charged that month. After that the normal price applies, unless the code says otherwise.
  5. When your plan starts. If you pay during your trial, your plan only starts after your free days. If you already have a plan, the new one starts after the current one. So you never lose days. The payment screen shows the date.
  6. Confirmation of your plan. After you take out a plan, we send you a confirmation by e-mail that you can keep. It includes a copy of the terms that apply at that moment. The confirmation shows the plan you chose, the price, the start date, how long it runs, whether it renews by itself or ends, and how to cancel. It also explains your statutory right to cancel.
  7. Invoice. After every payment you get an e-mail. The invoice is in the app under ‘Subscription and payment’ → ‘Invoices’, where you can print it or save it as a PDF. If you get money back, a credit note is listed right under that invoice.

7. Monthly: renewal and cancelling

  1. A monthly plan renews by itself every month, using the payment details you gave the first time. We take the payment about a day before the month you paid for ends. Your account shows until when your month runs. You can cancel at any time; after you cancel, no new payment is taken.
  2. Cancelling takes one button: ‘My account’ → ‘Subscription and payment’ → ‘Cancel’. You may also e-mail us. You get an e-mail to confirm.
  3. After cancelling you keep playing up to and including the last day of the month you paid for. Changed your mind? Until that day, tap ‘Carry on after all’.
  4. If a payment fails, we do not try again. We send you an e-mail. Your plan then runs until the end of the month you paid for. To carry on, you pay again in the app.
  5. Switching to yearly is possible at any time. The year starts after your current month.

8. Yearly: stops by itself

  1. A yearly plan runs for one year and never renews by itself. So there is nothing to cancel.
  2. Three weeks and one week before it ends we send you an e-mail with a button to renew. In the app you can renew in the last three weeks of your year (from the first e-mail).
  3. If you renew, the new year starts after the old one. If you do not, your plan stops on its end date and nothing is charged.

9. Together (euros only)

  1. With ‘Together’ two people play everything for a year, each with an account of their own. One of you pays; the other pays nothing.
  2. Together is only possible with a regular partner you have added in the app and who has confirmed it. If your partner already has a plan or plays free for life, Together is not needed.
  3. Together never renews by itself, just like the yearly plan (clause 8). The person who pays gets the renewal e-mails; the partner gets an e-mail one week before the end.
  4. If the person who pays has their data deleted, the partner keeps playing until the end of the paid year.

10. Cancelling and money back

  1. Your statutory right to cancel. As a consumer you may cancel your plan within 14 days, without giving a reason. The 14 days start on the day after you take out the plan. If you ask to start playing within those 14 days, the law sometimes lets a business charge a fair part of the price for the time you already played. We do not do that (see 10.2).
  2. Our extra promise: money back after every payment. We go further than the law. Within 14 days after any payment you can stop and get the whole amount back, even if you have already played. This also applies to a monthly payment that was taken automatically and to the renewal of a year. If you pay during your trial, the 14 days count from the payment.
  3. How: ‘My account’ → ‘Subscription and payment’ → ‘Withdraw and get a refund’. The button is for your latest payment; for an earlier payment within those 14 days, e-mail us. You may always e-mail help@vosbridge.com, or use the model cancellation form at the end of these terms. Any clear statement is enough.
  4. We confirm by e-mail. The money is usually back on your account or card within a few working days, and always within 14 days. There is no charge for this.
  5. The period you bought with that payment ends at once, and a monthly plan does not renew any more. You then carry on as before that payment: for example in your trial if it is still running, or with today's free board.
  6. This promise comes on top of your statutory rights and takes nothing away from them.

11. Lifetime plans and extra free days

  1. We may give someone extra free days or a lifetime plan, for example as thanks for testing. This is a gift; there is no right to it.
  2. With a lifetime plan you play everything free for as long as VosBridge and your account exist. It is personal and cannot be transferred.
  3. If you are given a lifetime plan while you have a monthly plan, the monthly plan stops and nothing more is charged.
  4. We may withdraw a lifetime plan if you do not follow clause 12.

12. How we treat each other

  1. Be kind at the table and in the chat. No insulting, threatening, discriminatory or unlawful messages.
  2. You are responsible for what you write and for the name you choose.
  3. Do not try to hack, overload or otherwise misuse VosBridge. Do not use tools to cheat, and do not use several accounts to get round the rules for free play.
  4. If someone breaks these rules, we may remove messages, give a warning, or suspend or close an account. We choose a step that fits what happened. Except for serious or repeated misuse, we warn first.
  5. If we close your account, you get back the part of your plan you have not yet used.
  6. You may share the boards you play (cards, bidding and play) freely. Do not share other players' personal data without their consent, such as their name or what they wrote in the chat. The app, the texts, the bots and the VosBridge name belong to StepFox.

13. What you can expect from VosBridge

  1. We do our best to keep VosBridge working well. Even so, it may sometimes be unavailable, for example for maintenance or because of a fault. We do maintenance at quiet times where we can.
  2. The bots, the analysis, the meanings of calls and the explanations by Claude (an AI) are aids. They play and explain as well as they can, but they can be wrong. It is not perfect bridge.
  3. Results and rankings are for enjoyment. There are no prizes.
  4. Changes to VosBridge. We only change VosBridge for a good reason, for example an improvement, a new law or security. A change never costs you extra. If a change has more than a minor negative effect on you, we e-mail you in advance what changes and when. You may then stop free of charge, within 30 days after that e-mail or after the change (whichever is later), and get back the part of your plan you have not yet used. This does not apply if you may keep the unchanged version at no extra cost.
  5. We make a backup every night, but data can still be lost. To keep a board, copy it as PBN.
  6. We provide VosBridge with reasonable care and skill. If it does not work as you may expect, you have the rights the law gives you. Tell us and we will put it right, or you get (part of) your money back.

14. Liability

  1. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, nor for loss caused solely by other players (by what they do or write).
  2. If we are liable all the same, this is limited to the amount you paid for VosBridge in the 12 months before, or £45 if that is higher.
  3. These limits do not apply if we caused the loss on purpose or through gross negligence, nor to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, nor to the extent the law does not allow them. They take nothing away from your statutory rights if VosBridge is not as agreed: repair or a repeat performance, a price reduction, ending the contract and a refund.

15. Your data and deleting your account

  1. How we handle your data is set out in the privacy statement.
  2. You can have your account and data deleted yourself: ‘My account’ → ‘Delete my data’. You then have 7 days to change your mind.
  3. Deleting your account ends your own plan. That by itself gives no additional right to a refund. Your statutory rights and ‘Withdraw and get a refund’ (clause 10) still apply; use them first. By law we must keep invoices for 7 years.

16. If VosBridge stops

  1. If we stop VosBridge, we tell you by e-mail at least 30 days in advance.
  2. You then get back the part of your plan you have not yet used.

17. Changes to these terms and to prices

  1. We only change these terms or the prices for a good reason, for example a new law, a new feature or higher costs.
  2. We e-mail you about any change that is not solely in your favour at least 30 days before it takes effect. The e-mail says what changes and why. You do not need to accept it again.
  3. The price of a period you have already paid for never changes.
  4. Monthly: a price rise needs an objective reason, such as higher costs or a higher VAT rate, and that reason is in the e-mail. A new price, or a change to your disadvantage, only applies from the first month that starts after those 30 days. If you do not agree, cancel free of charge before that date and you pay nothing more.
  5. Yearly: a change to your disadvantage only applies when you choose to pay again to renew. You see the new price and terms before you pay. If a significant change to your disadvantage must take effect sooner, for example because of a new law, you may stop free of charge before it takes effect and get back the part you have not yet used.
  6. Changes in your favour, or small changes that make no difference to you (for example a clearer explanation), may apply at once.
  7. The date of this version is at the top. We send you older versions on request.

18. Complaints

  1. A question or complaint? E-mail help@vosbridge.com, or tap ‘Help’ → ‘Send us a message’ in the app. Tell us what happened and what you would like.
  2. We reply within one working day. We resolve a complaint within 14 days. If we cannot, we tell you within those 14 days when you will have an answer.
  3. We are not a member of an alternative dispute resolution scheme. If we cannot settle it together, you can go to court (clause 19).

19. Law and courts

  1. Dutch law applies to these terms and to your plan.
  2. If you live in the United Kingdom, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the part of the UK where you live. Nothing in these terms takes away your statutory rights.
  3. You may bring a claim in any court that has jurisdiction, including the courts of the part of the UK where you live (England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland). We may only bring a claim against you where the law allows it, which is usually the courts where you live.

Model cancellation form

You do not have to use this form. The ‘Withdraw and get a refund’ button or an ordinary e-mail is just as good.
